Healing Ministry

“Are any among you suffering? They should keep on praying about it. And those who have reason to be thankful should continually sing praises to the Lord. Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. And their prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make them well. And anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven. Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results.” – James 5:13-16 (NLT)

The power of God’s presence makes us whole

I’ve experienced it for myself. I know many others who have felt overwhelmed by God’s Spirit … who have felt that their lives have been healed and made whole by God’s presence. This should not be a surprise – it’s God’s plan.

Church of the Spirit offers you new ways to tap into God’s Spirit for yourself. We’re offering you a variety of ways to let God bring your life back into balance: physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Many of us who have experienced the wonderful results of prayer have gathered together to share our prayers with you, and to lead you deeper into the life God has in store for you. Let me encourage you to take us up on the offer.

Prayers for Healing at our Communion services

Our trained Prayer Team members will spend a short time with you in prayer during Communion at one of our Sunday services. They will not be able to go into a lot of depth with you, but you can alert them to a specific need in your relationships, or a specific physical need, for which you would like to have prayer.

We also offer the Sacrament of Anointing each month at our services (on the 2nd Sunday at 9:00, 4th Sunday at 11:00). On these days we design the service to provide any and all who wish to be anointed to have the opportunity to come forward during Communion. What is it? In anointing, Pastor Roger prays that you will overflow with God’s Spirit and experience his presence in a new way as he marks your forehead with holy oil. That oil is not magical, it’s an outward sign of what is happening to you inside, by the power of the Spirit of God.

The Sacrament of Anointing is also available to anyone in the hospital or who is sick and shut in. Please call and let us know your desire to have the priest come visit you.

One of our pastors can meet with you, or may refer you to a professional Christian counselor in the area. Please note that counseling does not take place during times of healing prayer. During prayer time, we focus on asking God to hear and respond to our prayers. Counseling is a different avenue for healing and takes place in a different format. If you have questions on how you can receive counseling, please chat with one of our pastors.

Please note: all conversations for prayer or counseling with one of our Pastors or with the trained Healing Prayer Teams is kept strictly confidential. And all personal conversations with Pastor Roger, as a priest, is held strictly confidential.
